Adventures at the Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade

This is Nala’s (+ my) favorite time of year because she is literally a star. When we showed up to the Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade in the East Village, the crowd went wild. OK maybe not exactly, but everyone wanted a photo of Nala! Last year I didn’t dress her up and instead opted for a festive Halloween sweater.

Another amazing thing about the parade being in the East Village is that there are a ton of fun restaurants and little shops surrounding the park. After spending some time mingling with the other dogs (and seeing a pack of CORGIS!) we walked around the area and stopped in a little shop called Cloak and Dagger where we picked up some cute pieces. Then to wrap up the day, we stopped at Yuca Bar (FAVE) where they have literally the best mojitos (tasting + price)!

During the parade it was raining quite a bit in the morning and I was unsure if it would clear up by later in the day. That’s why I grabbed these Cole Haan water resistant wedge booties! I got them a few seasons ago, but they are my go-to when it’s raining out and I want to still look cute! OBSESSED! I actually have quite a few rain booties 😉 because in NYC you need to be able to have functional boots to wear in the rain!

NOW is the time to start planning for next year because all things Halloween are on sale! I found this super cute place called Poochie Heaven that has a ton of unique costumes (+ get 20% dog Halloween costumes w/code “HAPPYHALLOWEEN”) or you can always shop at Petco or Party City.
