Can’t run from the pain, go towards it.

Seriously though, everything is an experience and you get something from everything you go through (experience riding on a motorcycle, knowledge, truly wireless headphones, etc.).

Every once in awhile I like to do a personal post, not sure if these posts are more for the audience or rather more for me. When I am going through something that I need to work out, these posts can make me feel more empowered to overcome it as I’m able to remind myself that I am in control of my own feelings and actions, and therefore can do whatever I need to do take care of it. These posts are extremely real (and in turn: vulnerable) and are examples of something I do to face my fears and get out some emotions.

“Cause what she prefers over me is work”

This is probably why when I get in some sort of funk, I tend to work harder. I target all my energy towards my work (full time job, blogging, taking care of life, etc). Throughout my life, I’ve noticed that there is seriously no point to staying upset for long. It’s not going to get you anywhere. Same thing people say about smiling when you’re upset, same thing about continuing blogging when you feel there’s no point; at some point, you pick yourself back up and pick up right where you left off: Killin it.

The reason for the title of this blog post is because ever since I changed something that I was so scared of changing, things have been great. I’ve started to be a lot more open and experience more things. As I continue to experience more things, there are new things that I am scared of (or cause pain) and there will continue to be more things. However, I need to not be scared to go through these things in order to ultimately make it great at the end.

Basically: face your fears because life is short and if it doesn’t work out, you’ll get over it.

THE LEWK.

On that note: I’m doing a GIVEAWAY for the holidays because I SRSLY LOVE ALL OF YOU and am so thankful for all that has happened this year. I’m giving away an OLIVER BILOU bag of your choice to one lucky winner, and their bestie. I styled one of their newest bags (THE VIVIAN) with a classic winter chic look: all black with a pop of color. Each OB bag has an inspirational quote inside for you to always remind yourself of. This Vivian bag reminds me to “always believe that something wonderful is about to happen”.

Since it’s been SO cold lately, cashmere is seriously the way to go. It can keep you super warm and Uniqlo has great prices for so many cashmere pieces. Also, I am obsessed with beanies (didn’t think I’d get through this post without talking about beanies) if you can’t tell from THIS POST and THIS POST. This Burton beanie is one of my fave go-tos because it literally goes with everything. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it, everyone wants it (girls AND guys)!

To win, follow me on Instagram (@prettyproperquaint) and Oliver Bilou (@oliverbilou) and tag your bestie in the comments on THIS IG post! I will be RANDOMLY SELECTING and announcing the giveaway winners on Saturday (Christmas Eve)!

This PLAY WHILE BROWSING song has a strong correlation to this post (title, vibes). Listen to this song over and over: Jay Z – Lost One.

Happy Holidays Babes!

    1. Thanks so much Erin! I so appreciate that sometimes our blogs can be about something other than fashion once in awhile 🙂

Hope you have an amazing rest of the year!

      xx Andrea
