GOODBYE 2016

Reflecting on 2016. Wow, where did this past year go? Sometimes I feel as though the time passes so fast, other times I realize how much has happened in that amount of time. I have made SO many changes this year, it’s INSANE.

PS; here are some things I’m loving + shopping for the new year:

BLOG

As some of you may know, I started this blog as more of a ‘lookbook’ for the vintage items in my vintage Etsy shop in 2014. I started this journey when I was right smack in the middle of taking the CPA exam(s) while working my full-time job. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to put much energy into it. As I continued to slowly work on my blog and Instagram, I learned more and more. At the beginning of 2016 (after deciding to really start to take my blog/IG seriously in September 2015), I had about 1,000 followers on IG. I made my goal at that time to reach 10K followers on IG by the end of the year (a pretty big goal I felt at the time). I worked REALLY hard to reach it, researching what I needed to do and just kept at it. At the end of 2016, I have hit over 20K followers (doubling my goal)!! So thankful for everyone that supports, reads, and follows this blog.

I’ve also been re-thinking my blog posts and trying to make them more like articles in a publication. Don’t get me wrong, I still love sharing my outfits (and always will) but I want to make sure I am publishing something of substance, too. If anyone has ANY suggestions of what they’d like to see, please let me know!

V PERSONAL / CAREER

Big changes happened in 2016. Ending a 4-year relationship and really getting to know more about myself, what I need and want. Basically entering into a relationship with MYSELF, which I think is so necessary for anyone (single or taken). SO thankful Nala has been around for constant support… (or am I the one supporting her?). This decision has enabled me to be open to SO many new experiences, friends, ideas, and opportunities. I’ve also worked at THREE different companies this year!!! While before that, I was at the same company for 5 years. AND, I moved to a new apartment (technically at the very end of 2015), but was in my previous apartment for 5 years. Sensing a trend here?

I think this is important for people to know.. that it’s OK to change things that may seem like really big steps if it is something that just might not make sense anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it WILL be scary.. but only at first. Then it’s exciting and you grow EXPONENTIALLY. It’s okay to know what is best for YOU and to act on it. You can always change it again if necessary; once you’ve made that BIG change, everything else just seems so much more possible.

STYLE

Finally, here are some great times (and outfits) from 2016:

Who knows what will come.. but I’m open to whatever it is and will be working hard to accomplish more great things. I do know one thing is for sure,

BRING IT ON 2017

One of my favorite moments of 2016.
