So New York Fashion Week (NYFW) started on Wednesday and it’s all the blogging world has been talking about. I’m not really a typical “shows” kind of girl (aka; I don’t really go out of my way to try and go to fashion shows). My favorite part of fashion week is going to the events that are thrown. Since there are a lot of people in town from all over, I love getting to see old friends, meet new friends, and meet in person the people you’ve only interacted with online!
However, I did end up getting invited to a few shows (Tadashi Shoji and Noon by Noor, to name a few) and they were super fun. It is nice to be able to see the clothes in person and how they would flow on an actual person rather than a photo. PLUS – I’m able to watch them with some good friends, too!
See a cute little video I made of what it’s like behind the scenes from a blogger’s perspective of watching a fashion show. Please note, I didn’t film much at all of the pieces being worn (you can check the specifics out HERE), I was too entranced in the moment. Enjoy:
MY NYFW LOOK
On this day, NYC got hit with a BLIZZARD and I ventured out to two evening shows that started at 4PM (once the snow finally stopped). I wore my fave vegan leather pants from Aritzia with a comfy bodysuit from Missguided. I added an on-trend DUSTER COAT on top to keep warm (see my full post on dusters HERE). I love pairing these pants with any type of bodysuit and this is one of my fave looks for going out. Since I was going out after the shows, this was the perfect transition look.
One thing I love about NYFW is the inspiration that it provides. When I’m not sure what to wear in the morning, I go through slides of pictures from the runway shows, the streetstyle from outside the shows (my fave place to view is VOGUE RUNWAY), and watch what’s hapenning everyone’s Instagram Stories. It makes getting dressed that much more fun!
