OMG – so much has happened in the first three days of NYFW! It was crazy but I had so much fun and am excited to share my weekend with everyone! Last season I’ve only reviewed the runway looks via Vogue (which I still love doing, and will still publish a post on my faves from this season), but this brought my experience to a whole other level. Together with Nataliya, we ran around from backstage to runway show, and managed to still capture SO many streetstyle looks! Such a fun first NYFW!
I’ve had SO much going on and I detailed everything below. Ps; shop my NYFW day #2 look below:
We first checked out the GiGi NY NYFW Pop Up in the Meatpacking district. The Fall collection was in full force and I am officially obsessed with the Fall color pallette!
We then headed over to the PH5 Presentation where it was a nice relaxing setting. The models were just standing around wearing the designs and I was able to shoot them easily (the light was perfect!).
We then ran uptown (ie; jumped in a JUNO) and shot a ton of streetstyle at Skylight at Moynihan Station. I will post all of the streetstyle looks later in the week.
We then jumped back downtown to the Cynthia Rowley presentation. The presentation was pretty interesting, the models were behind a sheer curtain and appeared to be on a bed jumping around with feathers. The feathers got EVERYWHERE, but they were serving drinks and they played Purity Ring! I had a fun time, plus got to meet Morgan of Boobs&Loubs!
Later that night we stopped by the Nicholas K after party and met one of the designers, Christopher Kunz! He was so nice and chatted about Nutrition (fave) for like 2 hours. Such a fun way to end the first night.
Started my day at the Style Coalition NYFW Influencer Lounge at the Dream Downtown hotel where I got my nails done (so obsessed) thanks to Primp and Polish and hair freshly straightened thanks to the girls using the Infiniti Pro By Conair® Diamond Brilliance™.
I met up with Nataliya and we headed over to the first NYC store opening of Lou & Grey. I did some quick shopping for my next NYFW look and picked up some go-to casual pieces.
We then dropped off all the goodies and headed over to shoot more streetstyle at Skylight at Moynihan Station. After getting some cool shots, we headed downtown and attended the Chromat show. We shot more streetstyle and headed BACK uptown! (tired yet?)
We went backstage at the Tadashi Shoji show and covered some of the makeup looks. (my first NYFW backstage look!) This was one of my favorite things I got to do, the ambiance was surprisingly calm, the lighting was perfect, and everyone seemed so friendly.
We then ran back to Nataliya’s place and changed for the Lulus Style Studio! We finally were able to relax a bit and have a drink with some good friends, and pick up some more goodies.
Wearing: Dress / Shoes / Bag (all Lulus)
We started out the morning covering the Rebecca Minkoff show from all angles (backstage, show, and streetstyle)! The show was to take place on the closed down Greene street in Soho and the backstage preparation took place in a store around corner. What was super cool about this show was Rebecca Minkoff selected a few big bloggers to walk in the show: Arielle Charnas of SomethingNavy (fave), Chriselle Lim of The Criselle Factor, Shea Marie of PeaceLoveShea, and Caroline Vreeland. We watched the show and then snapped from streetstyle looks from the attendees and models.
Then we headed over to the #hot2adopt event and go to dress up like cats and see all the cute kittins up for adoption!
I ended my day at the ShopStyle Social House (which was way different from last year, but still so fun) and then met up with a few bloggers to do some NYFW shoots.
AND OMG I AM TIRED! Not only have these days been packed full with everything, but I have been trying to go through and edit all the photos I’ve taken (Saturday I took over 1,400 photos alone)! All in all I had an AMAZING first NYFW (IRL). I saw the backstage, runway shows, streetstyle appearances, popup shops, and even an after party where I met a designer. Success.
Later this week I will be publishing all the cool streetstyle looks that I saw for some major FALL inspo. Even though throughout all this craziness it was SO hot, these were technically Fall shows!
