Over this past weekend I ventured to Long Beach. Let me tell you what a nice beach this is and how easy it is to get to from the city! This was my first time ever visiting Long Beach and I had so much fun. This is going to be my go-to beach for the rest of the summer and thought I’d share the best NYC quick escape.

Cost Breakdown:
$19 Round trip LIRR tickets from Penn Station + $15 Beach Pass to get on the beach.

The LIRR train is about an hour and it goes right to Park Ave (essentially the main street in Long Beach) which is only a few short blocks away from the beach and boardwalk. You can walk around or ride a bike along the long boardwalk or with the beach pass you can go on and off the beach all day. There’s also a small section with food trucks to grab a quick bite. We ate at the Taco Tuesdays Food Truck and I got a fish and veggie taco; SO good!

On main street, there are surf shops and this cute little health food store/cafe where you can escape the sun and recharge with some good food. It’s called Bob’s Natural Foods and although the ambiance seems very basic (health food store with stools at a counter in the back) the food is very well thought out and tastes amazing. I got the CELL ENERGIZER SMOOTHIE and the HUMMUS & AVOCADO wrap (highly recommend the wrap). PS; you can even recharge your phone since I found an outlet near the counter.

Shop some super cute beachwear below:

Here’s a video to help get the vibes of the boardwalk:

*NOTE; I don’t think there’s skateboarding allowed on the boardwalk, but there may be a skatepark around.
