Reflecting on this Blog: An Inspiration to Accomplish Your Goals

August was amazing for me. I’ve made changes in my life for the better and I hit all the #GOALS that I set for myself this past month. I said 26 will be my year, + it’s already proven to be off to a great start.

So much has changed in the last year, it’s hard to believe where everything is. This time last year (September 2015) I decided I was going to get REAL serious with my blog. I actually started this blog (and Instagram) in August 2014, but it wasn’t until September 2015 that I was finally ready to see where this could go if I really focused and worked hard on it.

It was at that time that I decided to move my blog over to WordPress from Blogspot and create a domain. This used to be – look how long that is!! The regular domain is long enough without the .blogspot, but I digress). I also decided on a posting schedule of 2 days a week (Monday + Thursday), and stuck to it… FOR 1 YEAR!! Sorry I just noticed this and I can’t believe I did it for an entire year straight.

Check my “Play While Browsing” past playlist that links every post I did since I switched to WordPress, beginning with my last post before switching (look how CUTE Nala was!). My very first ‘serious’ blogpost discussing my thoughts on Blogs at that time (specifically versus magazines) was published on Labor Day 2015, so maybe I’ll do something special for this upcoming labor day post.

If something does feel right, change it. That’s probably the biggest lesson that I’ve learned this past year. Not too fast, definitely try and make it work it first. But listen to the signs and feelings (queuing up my past post) and when you know it isn’t right after all you tried – then it’s time to make a change.

One of the main things that prompted the change in my perspective for my blog was attending the “Collective Conversations” event hosted by ShopStyle Collective in October 2015. I used to introduce my blog as ‘nothing’ and the girls behind ShopStyle Collective helped show me that my blog is a brand and I need to portray it in the best way. Ever since that day, I’ve always been extremely serious when talking about my blog, my brand.

Although I achieve these goals for myself, I do work very hard to accomplish them. I don’t talk about it too much, but I have a regular full-time job on top of my blogging full-time. Life can get busy… just make sure you stay focused on what you want, and you’ll get it. Last night I surpassed my goal of 10,000 followers on Instagram! My hard work is paying off.

Congratulations sweet Andrea!!! I honestly can’t believe you are juggling a full-time job, a blog, and insta! Those alone can be a full-time job for sure!! I’ve come to notice that it’s definitely the type of business where you get as much as you put in, and being consistent is HUGE. I congratulate you on this task because it is a big challenge to keep up and you’re shining so bright! Keep it up at both because balance is so important in life! Love your style, and you are beautiful inside and out! Xo, Adelina

What an inspiring post! I recently decided to get serious about my blog and I’m already noticing a difference. though it can be tough sometimes (and a little discouraging when you hit a plateau) it’s also something I love. hearing you talk about reaching your goals is incredibly encouraging – and congratulations on the 10k IG followers – what an accomplishment! I wish you the best and can’t wait to see what this next year brings you 🙂

    Love, Lindsey
