Summer Blues: The Transition Period

The weather in NYC has been so crazy lately, from intensely hot to now a more comfortable cool. It only reminds me that Fall is right around the corner and I wanted to share a nice transitional look for this in-between seasons.

Ann Taylor actually makes quality sweaters that are pretty cute (I got this sweater in TWO colors)! I typically only shop Ann Taylor for work clothes, but this sweater is cute enough for the transition from business to casual! The buttons on the back give it a “business in the front, party in the back” vibe.

My go-to for shorts is typically Abercrombie & Fitch because I have small waist and most of their shorts are only $25. I paired the shorts with a sweater and a light jacket since the weather has started to get cooler. Not only are the colors of this Vintage Jacket perfect, but how light it is works just right for the transition of the weather. You can throw it over any look, whether a dress or a sweater, and it helps to bring a different texture to the whole outfit.

PS – I am totally obsessed with these new Preen by Thornton Bregazzi sunnies!! I got them via Ditto which allows you to rent designer sunnies which is perfect for me to try them out before actually making the plunge to buy. It just makes the buying decision that much easier (and we all know I’m terrible with decisions). Use code “prettyproperquaint” for a free month!

I absolutely love this simple and causal outfit. You still look stylish but also very comfortable which is what I normally go for!

You’re so gorgeous, girl! I’m seriously crazy about that vintage jacket from your Etsy store. The texture is even nicer in person. Also, I think I’m going to take you up on that free month of Ditto. I’ve never invested in designer sunglasses before, so this will be exciting!
